HAIL OF BULLETS Begins Recording First Demo
July 3, 2007GOREFEST drummer Ed Warby has issued the following update on HAIL OF BULLETS, his new band also featuring THANATOS guitarists Stephan Gebédi and Paul Baayens, former PESTILENCE/ASPHYX singer Martin Van Drunen and former HOUWITSER bass player Theo van Eekelen:
"Yep, we've finally started recording our first demo! Last Friday I entered the Excess studios in Rotterdam to lay down the drums for as many tracks as I could do in one day. After a full day of pounding the shit out of my drumkit we ended up with six songs, four of which will comprise the first official HAIL OF BULLETS promo.
"When the drums were done, we loaded everything into ProTools at Stephan's place so we could get on with the guitars. So far we got all of Stephan's rhythm parts done, and even with just two guitar tracks it already sounds massive. Gotta love that juicy B-tuning. I'm almost terrified of how monstrous this'll turn out with two more guitars and bass... and of course herr von Drunen's voice!
"The next recording session is planned for July 13-15. You can count on some WIP (that's 'work in progress,' not "women in prison", you sick bastards!) teasers to appear right here on our very own MySpace afterwards. When bass and vocals are done (hopefully by early August) the stuff will be sent out to Dan Swanö, who will no doubt provide us with an inhumanly heavy mix...
"I know it's not quite finished yet, but I have a feeling this stuff is going to tear you guys to fucken shreds. Actually, you can consider that a promise!"
Gebédi previously stated about the group's upcoming CD, "We trust it will be a classic death metal album in more than one way. The material we've written so far is very strong stuff ranging from slow, doomy parts to the occasional blast beat. Funny thing to mention is that drummer Ed Warby has written most of the guitar riffs so far."
